This young lady was very unhappy with her smile due to the old discolored restorations, and showing too much gum tissue. She also disliked the non-uniform color and she didn’t like the shape of the teeth. Her biggest complaint is that when she smiled in pictures, it looked as though she had no back teeth on her right side like they were pushed in. The smile on that side of her moth appeared dark.
A gum lift was performed using a laser to trim the excess tissue with no bleeding. After this, ten porcelain veneers were placed to improve the shape and color of her upper teeth. The porcelain veneers also “bumped out” the right side of her smile, giving her a broader, symmetrical smile. Translucency was added to the porcelain veneers at the edges for a more natural appearance.
